A welcoming Laurels & Lace bridal portrait
Are appointments required to try on gowns?

Yes. Laurels & Lace is by appointment only. The boutique operates from a private home in Layton, allowing each appointment to offer privacy and an exclusive shopping experience with the space reserved just for you. Send a DM on Instagram or text 801-636-1993 to get on the calendar.

May guests attend an appointment?

Absolutely. There is space for up to three guests to join each bride’s appointment. Bring the people who will add positive energy to your dress-shopping experience.

Is there an appointment fee?

Weekday appointments are complimentary. Saturday and holiday appointments are $15 to book via Venmo; that amount goes toward your dress rental if you choose to hold a gown.

How long are appointments?

Each appointment is one hour long. For most brides, that is enough time to find the perfect dress. A second appointment to revisit favorites or make a final decision can be scheduled for a $25 fee.

What sizes are available?

The collection includes dresses sized 2–20. Bridal sizing differs from regular sizing, and many brides wear a bridal size two to four sizes larger than their usual size. Laurels & Lace will help each bride find an appropriate fit.

What kinds of gowns are available?

Laurels & Lace offers exclusively modest, garment-friendly wedding gowns for rent. The collection is built to help brides find stylish, modern dresses that cover temple garments without additional modesty alterations.

Are alterations needed?

No. One of the biggest benefits of renting from Laurels & Lace is that the gowns are already altered. Instead of ordering a stock-size dress and paying for custom alterations, you’ll try on gowns already within your size range.

Are the dresses used?

Yes—but you wouldn’t know it. Every gown is carefully inspected, professionally cleaned, and maintained to boutique standards before it returns to the rack. The collection focuses on current styles purchased within roughly the last one to three years.

How much does a gown rental cost?

Prices vary by gown, but nearly all gowns rent for either $400 or $450 plus tax. An $85 cleaning fee is charged per pickup. A non-refundable deposit reserves the gown for your wedding date, and the remaining balance is due at pickup.

How long does a standard rental last?

A standard rental includes two weeks of use, taken consecutively or split to accommodate bridal photos. Additional weeks must be disclosed when reserving and are $50 per additional week. The $85 cleaning fee applies to each pickup.

When is the best time to schedule an appointment?

About three to four months before your wedding is ideal. Visiting a traditional purchase shop first can help you discover the silhouettes and styles you love, leaving your Laurels & Lace appointment focused on finding your gown.
